The food is tops and that includes everything they sell. I had forgotten that they existed but all of us at the office Gerald Murray Home Center and GeraldMurrayMusic.com give it a big thumbs up.
After living in the shoals area for a little over a year, I must name Brooks Barbecue my favorite BBQ restaurant around. The ribs are well seasoned and just a little crisp at the edges and tender where it counts. The wings are excellent, though the hotdogs are perhaps the biggest surprise. The sausage is split in the middle and the gap is filled with mustard slaw which perfectly compliments the hot dog. The only downside is that I’m not personally very fond of their bbq sauce, as I find it a bit too acidic for my taste. Overall an excellent place to eat. Go grab some take-out (limited seating and tiny dining room), but get your order in early or they occasionally run out of their top sellers.
Delicious ribs, great folks. I have fallen in love with the ribs here. They’re usually juicy, thick and tasty, but I’m not a sauce person so I just like the taste of the meat. I haven’t had their hot dogs but the mustard slaw is pretty dang good, and gives Bunyan’s a run for their money. The BBQ sandwich was tasty too; full of tender meat and more of that slaw.
Good barbecue. Sauce had a great vinegar and peppery flavor. Very nice people run this place
Where’s the Smoke?. I liked the flavor for the foods here. The slaw was nice and tangy. The potato salad had an Italian flavor to it.However, the meat did not have much, if any, of a smoke flavor. I did not notice any smoke color to the meat either.Usually smoke houses have the smell of smoke outside. I did not note any smell except for the chicken restaurant on 2nd Street.
This place is very small only four tables inside. Very little meat on the sandwich. They had a difference kind of sauce, hot and mild did not like nether.
Great!. All I can say is that Brooks BBQ is the ONLY one in town that knows exactly how to do BBQ. The other joints around here are pitiful compared to Brooks. Best hotdogs around!
