The fried chicken here is very good. It’s regular (not Nashville Hot style.) Properly fried with good bite through, the meat has been cooked through but remains moist. Just want you want in fried chicken. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the catfish. While you get a large serving and it’s nicely fried, it has a very muddy, strong fishy flavor. Not a good kind of fish flavor. Reminds me of the catfish I cought in my uncle’s pond as a kid. Not the typical sweet mild catfish we now expect. Fries are real potatoes and good and slaw is finely chopped cabbage with a little mayo but no other vegetables. All in all, still pretty good and it cuts the richness of the bird. We enjoyed the locally brewed Singing River IPA on tap. Service was good. So, stick to the chicken and it’s a good place to eat.
