Oy! Travel Channel, Food TV, what ev! Weak, short, under poured, overpriced rum thing that cost us $13 for the pair. Was afraid to even approach food after that. I guess if you have to say you’ve been somewhere or for whatever reason believe a T-shirt is a right of passage then by all means. If you want something authentic that isn’t over hyped and self righteous about its very existence then stay away…far, faraway.
We had a great time. They had an area set out so people could watch the football games. They were having Bulls on the beach. We enjoyed a couple of Bushwickers. Yummy. The band was enjoyable. We plan to go again.
Pubcrawl of the World destination. Certain places should be visited at least once. Flora-Bama is one of ’em. My wife and I are tourists, not locals or regulars. Our past couple trips to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key, have included a lunch / beach / live music stop at Flora-Bama. Lunch was at one of the many bars and included two varieties of baked oysters and two varieties of beer. We decided we liked the Oysters McClelland better. After lunch we moved to the interior and listened to a fabulous band. The boys have so much of the rich southern style and man can they play – everything. Beach access is right out the back. So, go enjoy a cold one, a good band, and some beach time.
Everything is great!! Here on soccer tourney went for lunch 3 days in a row never had anything bad kids had fun as well!! Love it come back again Net
I would just like to say wow great time until…..i ordered a drink as i walked in the door, the bartender was rude and acted as if i was offending her by asking for a cocktail, right about closing time a staff member walked up and informed us that it was closing time and then proceeded to threaten my friend and inform him that he would stick his broom handle up somewhere it didn’t belong(I think we all know what he really said). A bartender comes over to let us know that it’s not cool and that since we aren’t regulars that him and his friends would kick our ass them have us arrested. It was uncalled for and why would I want to go back to a place that all the locals threaten me as if I am not welcome to the point of violence! Not cool and I will not be visiting the Legendary Flora Bama ever again. I felt disrespected and unwelcome.
This Bar, if i had the chance to go back, would be amazing if I could,Their Burgers: i would give their Burgers a 10 out of 10…WHOOOOO… The food is really great here…ROLL TIDE ROLL,BABY!!!
The Florabama is not a place for children or fine dining. Its an old fashioned beach bar. Nothing slick or fancy-nearly destroyed by hurricanes-built back bit by bit-great local musicians on three different stages-good alcohol and plenty of it-a great beach and a near perfect view of the Gulf-the most eclectic crowd imaginable (bikers&aging hippies rednecks, local business people, tourists on vacation, bridal parties, Navy fliers in their dress whites)-a great party everytime you ho.The food is basic( burgers, oysters (raw or steamed), and steamed royal red shrimp) but really good. On the tight night, its hard to top a pound or royal reds and a couple dozen raw oysters with couple of ice cold beers at the Bana
