Used to be a Frequent Visitor from Oxford, AL. I wouldn’t eat anywhere else but Fuji. However, the last time I visited, several months ago, my chicken was not cooked all the way (pretty much raw in the middle). When I told the waitress, she gladly took my chicken back and returned promptly with it. It had been MICROWAVED!!!!! I made that my last visit. I was so disappointed.
Better than expected for the area. Finding a good Japanese restaurant in Oxford, AL was a surprise. They have both a great sushi bar and hibachi grills. The cook we had was one of the best we have ever had in a Japanese restaurant including large cities like Atlanta. The service that went along with the excellent cooking demonstration was equally good and the price was very fair. The restaurant is located just off I-20 so it is an easy off and on for people passing through the area.
We took our son and daughter. My son has a potentially life-threatening allergy to sesame. We called ahead just to see if they could accommodate us and when we got there, the manager already had a table for us. He had already informed the hostess, the waitress, and the chef of our impending arrival and needs. They sat us at a table by ourselves and everyone verified his exact allergies all while giving us some of the best service we’ve had anywhere. Wonderful! God bless the staff!
Decent for sushi but not awesome. They had a $1 beer night on Wednesdays the last few times I went that made for a good drink deal.
Great place to eat in. Fuji is probably one of the better Asian places in Oxford. Staff are friendly and the food are phenomenal. I have very nice experience visiting the city especially the food. The portion was more than expected. One order could have fed 2 of us. I like Asian girls, the lady up front was cute. 😛
What happened?. Fuji once was the best place to go…friendly servers,management,cooks and sushi chefs. not only would we go there twice a week but we would always make reservations for our special occasions. the last couple of months we have been in its obvious management has changed. we normally were always spoken to by the guy that used to run the place and he always made sure everything was ok. now you go in theres no one up front to greet customers,servers are still good although ive heard them being spoken to very rudely by im assuming the new manager,all you can hear is people speaking chinese or japanese amongst one another instead of interacting with customers,the meat sizes are much smaller than before and to top it off the restaurant is extremely hot!! i wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore. its not the same comfortable relaxing atmosphere as before!!
Great food, great service, friendly staff. Wish I had know about the monster portions and my husband and I would have split a meal! We ate on the grill side and I had salmon which was perfectly cooked & came with TWO peices that were probably 8 oz each! It was twice the portions at the usual place we eat in Bham, Sumo. Sushi was also very good! Would Diffently eat there again!
