  The most authentic Mexican food I’ve found in the Montgomery/Prattville area. Amazing chorizo!

  I’m not sure????. I stopped by the restaurant a couple of Sundays ago to give it a try. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon, only 2 guys in a booth in the place. I thought, well, I’ll get good service. The waitress was too interested in flirting with the 2 guys (by the way, the did not order anything the whole time I was there) instead of taking care of paying customers. I got my order, beef burrito, rice and beans. I thought that I could not go wrong with this simple plate….wrong. The rice was dry and the beans were like they came right out of a can. The burrito wasn’t bad though. The chips seemed old, stale, and burned. The waitress never came by to refill my drink. After finishing my meal, I had to go ask for my bill. I’ve always been a very good tipper and gave her at least my minimum of 20% just in case a venture another stop just to give it a second chance. My wife and I are used to the Mexican food out west (Texas, Mexico, etc) and have still not found a Mexican restaurant that fills our expectations. It’s sad to say, that around here, Taco Bell might be the best….wow, that’s not saying much!

  Hands Down! THE BEST!. When I say the best I am comparing this place to every place in prattville and in montgomery. This is including the authentic taquerias like esperanza, the tex-mex places like zona roacha and los cabos, and california style such as el rey. Taqueria la Hacienda is AMAZING! Please go in and ask for their authentic mexican menu and pick- you can’t go wrong. They have a tex-mex menu for the gringos in your party, but if you can at all convince them to try some of the things on the mexican menu, do. We tried the paradilla (grilled meat assortment) which came out with plump shrimp, flank, cured pork belly, and chorizo. Soft warm hand made tortillas- No thin yellow doublestack tortillas here- these are the real thing. The same tortillas are used to make the tacos which are what you would expect if you ordered street style tacos in California. Pico de gallo con aguacate ( cilantro, culantro, poblano, onion, avocado )- was the freshest I have had. They also make their own house picante which was just right. Mandi and others looking for carne asada, look no further. This is real. This is what we have been waiting for. If you aren’t in the mood for a taco try a couple of sopes, guaraches, tortas, etc. They have real mexican beers like sol- margaritas- which I didn’t try- etc. They have outside dining and Maria the server came straight from the heart. Tip her big and tell her I said hello when you go. Report back with your experiences!
