It was so delicious! They were very friendly when we walked in and throughout dinner. Everything was really fresh and they had Flounder Nigiri! We have been looking for Flounder at a sushi joint for years. I also enjoyed that their rolls were different from other sushi places.
Service was good but the food is only mediocre. My sushi wouldn’t stay together to even pick it up. Sushi was not good at all. The soy sauce was not labeled on the tables and had dirty rings where it had been sitting in the dish. Chairs were straight backs and uncomfortable. Overall experience was unpleasant.
This restaurant is located in The Grove shopping center across from Target. I wasn’t expecting much, but this is definitely one of the best restaurants for sushi in Birmingham. I would suggest trying the Summer Roll and the Firecracker Roll.
When we walked in the restaurant, we were hit with a very strong stench of musk and bleach. It was very abrasive to our senses. It seemed like our food took forever to come out, but our time may have been perceived incorrectly due to the strong odor. When we finally got our food the sushi was mushy and lacked any flavor. It didn’t even taste like old fish. Just mush and nothing. The fried rice was mushy and almost paste-like. We haven’t been back since.
Not impressed. Went here for the 1st time in a while and I used to love it…it has gone down hill. Service was terrible. One 1 waitress for the whole restaurant. I can almost handle it if my first bite of one of my sushi rolls didn’t taste so fishy and gross that I spit it back out on the plate. I love sushi but that was bad. I didn’t even finish my food because I had such I bad taste lingering. This place needs some major improvement!!
Not so good. It’s our first time here, we ordered a dumpling that smells like dog/cat food and then we ordered some sushi and some of the sushi was so fishy! We are leaving this restaurant hungry and disgusted !
Sushi was very mediocre. Service was good but the quality of the sushi was very poor. It didn’t have a good blend of flavors; for instance I had cream cheese added to the Eel roll (which cost an extra $1) and there was so much cream cheese I could hardly taste the eel. I had the lunch special with soup and salad and the two rolls. The soup and salad was tasty but the sushi itself was not impressive at all. It reminded me of publix sushi. It tasted ok but definitely not high quality sushi that you expect from a restaurant. Will not go back. Not worth the money spent.
