Perfectly executed modern southern cuisine. Staying at the tutweiler, we opted to ‘eat in’Great decision.Perfectly prepared modern versions of southern classics like chicken and rice (mushroom risotto with sage gravy), and shrimp and grits (cheddar poblano polenta) were expensive but flawlessly executed.Highly recommended.
Better than Expected. I just wanted soup and salad and was not expecting much. Then the tomato bisque came out. It was incredible. Very spicy with great fresh flavors. The chicken Ceasar was also tasty. Service wasn’t the best, but I am going back for the soup.
New Chefs make all the difference.. This place is perhaps the most overlooked & underestimaeted Restaurant in town. Reasonably priced and the best aged beef in town by far. Worth a try.
Maybe better now?. Our one experience at Icon was shortly after they opened. It is a nice space, but at the time the food was pretty average and the service was extremely spotty (had such problems that we actually asked for a different server, who did a fantastic job). We were back at the Tutwiler a couple weeks ago and chose not to try it again, but the fact that it’s still there tells me it must have gotten at least a little better.
