I really like this place. The only think that I do not like, is the fact that they do not take reservations. I have been there a couple of times and had to sit at the bar-Still we enjoyed our croque monsieur, croque madame and drinks very much.
We took my daughter to Chez Fon Fon for dinner the night before we moved her to Tuscaloosa for her freshman year of college. It did not disappoint! It’s one of our favorite places in Birmingham and we were reminded why. The food was excellent and the service couldn’t have been better. From the appetizers to our main courses to the desserts, every single dish was amazing.
The burger and the foie gras are stellar! Overall a bit pricey but you get what you pay for in my opinion. Now I’m just typing something to meet the character minimum.
When people say this place has the best burger, they aren’t lying!! Soooo good! Such a cute, romantic atmosphere. Perfect for a date! Staff is beyond attentive and friendly. Can not say enough good things about this place
LOVED IT! Chez Fon Fon has always been a favorite of mine. It is always consistent and always SO GOOD. I usually get the Crouge Madame or the hamburger, but this time I decided to order the omelet. I was wonderful! It was filled with a tomato marmalade that was TO DIE FOR! It came with a side salad and french fries, which were the perfect match. All in all a great lunch with great service too!
Burgers are delicious. Was passing through Birmingham and decided to stop here for a late lunch. And boy oh boy was I glad I did. My burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very good. I will definitely be going back next time I am in Birmingham.
My second Chez Fon Fon lunch… Delicious, again! Had heard about the burger from my brother so decided to try it. Whoa! Perfectly seasoned & cooked (medium rare) & oh so juicy. I think maybe the butter on the bread was also seasoned. Enjoyed the thin, crispy pommes frites – only complaint is they were a tad greasy. Will certainly go again next opportunity! Make sure to get your workout in before enjoying the hamburger Fon Fon.
