I would definitely argue that Falafel Cafe has the best/most authentic shawarma in Birmingham. Probably can’t go wrong with any of the menu choices, but the shawarma is my go-to.
This place has the best food in the Middle eastern / Mediterranean space.Fantastic shwarma and rice… The best falafel I’ve had in town Very reasonable prices Clean and well run.I highly recommend this for lunch or dinner. I’ll be back very soon If you get a regular pita sandwich or plate make sure you get some falafel on the side because it’s great.
My wife and I went to the Falafel Cafe for lunch today for the first time. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything appeared. We told the man behind the counter that it was our first time there. He took the time to explain the menu and gave us samples of the various meats to try. I had a falafel pita with rice, and my wife had a chicken pita. Everything was delicious and we’ll definitely be back.
A delicious Middle Eastern cafe opened in Birmingham, AL on August 1st! Slowly the word is getting around just how delicious the food choices are at this cafe, it’s one I will call a treasure, should you have the opportunity to visit. As you enter thru the doors, you a greeted with such warm pleasant smiles from the employees standing there eager to help you make such a tasty selection. And then there is also something else that pleasantly surprises you… it’s the smell of deliciousness that hits you instantly, which will send messages to your brain that gets you super excited. If this is your 1st visit, you are definitely in for a treat…. you are about to embark on a taste bliss frenzy. And for a nice gesture of welcome, for the newbies, they like to hand you your 1st falafel… which will light up your eyes after every bite and of course will cause your mouth to salivate for more. You will wonder what is this tiny ball of perfection. For me, I am not new to falafels and haven’t had one this delicious since I was in Egypt, which was in 2009. So as you can imagine, my excitement when taking my 1st bite, I could close my eyes and feel I was back in the Middle East where food is so delicious made with just the right amount of spices… something this part of the world is so famous for!All the food at this cute little cafe is equally delicious and is cooked to such perfection. With that 1st stop in to check this place out… you my friend are HOOKED!!But still as much as all the food is tasty.. it is that 1st bite of falafel that will have your tastebuds daydreaming for another trip of heavenly bliss… this is perhaps the best falafels I have ever eaten… even compared to the ones in Egypt. And while I do love the food, I have to say I enjoy the atmosphere equally as well. It’s hard to find a cafe/restaurant where you can chat with complete strangers as if they were long lost friends… joking, laughing and sharing your thoughts on this cafe that I call a true treasure!!
