Best fine dining brunch in Birmingham proper. White tablecloth, but lots of quaint little rooms with bay window seats in some and the styles of chairs…

I have visited this place for brunch and loved it. I got to sit at the bar and the bartender was very nice and friendly. The food is served in a very nice and appetizing way. You will enjoy it, just make sure you are dressed appropriately, so you dont feel uncomfortable.
Simple and attractive atmosphere. Very, very good food. Scallops and pork chop were both top notch. Where it takes a hit is the service. It took literally 15 minutes after being seated to get water and a menu (longer still to get an actual drink) and I felt like I was inconveniencing the waiter.
This was one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had. Quality food and extremely nice waiter. I think the slowness of the service might bother some people but I really liked the pace of the meal. It wasn’t overwhelming and they give you time between courses to digest and just spend time talking. The atmosphere here is really classy and calming. Definitely somewhere I would take someone I want to impress!
I was fairly sad to see the Veranda close, so it took us a while to try G&G. I should not have waited so long! We went on New Year’s Eve with another couple and had a tremendous 4 course meal!We have been disappointed in prix fixe menus but this was not the case. Each course was a complete experience with unique flavors! The duck fat cornbread that came with the duck breast was so rich and flavorful it stole the show, not to say the duck over pork cassoulet was anything short of spectacular!
Very good food. Went for Thanksgiving with family. I like the setting of eating in an old house as well. The service was excellent. I plan to go back for dinner service soon.
Had a wonderful lunch today. The waitstaff was so personable! This was my first visit in years since the location was The Veranda. The renovations and decor are so chic. My starter was the spinach, bacon, and Fried Egg salad… It was phenomenal! My lunch entree (I was already full) was suggested by my waiter… Was the shrimp and grits! It wasn’t bad… Maybe average. However, I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.
Today’s Sunday brunch was my first experience at Galley and Garden. I ordered the trout over grits accompanied with brussel sprouts and onions. My trout was cooked perfectly and the skin was delightfully crispy. I like brussel sprouts, but they are not my favorite. These, however, were extremely flavorful, especially when eaten with the sweet onion. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle. He enjoyed the chicken, gravy, and waffle. He did not like the syrup, though, but that is just a taste preference. To me, the it tasted like sorghum syrup if that helps. Overall, I was pleased with our experience and would like to come back and try their dinner menu.
