I hate to write a negative review but..Last 2 times I went to the GT the food was blah. Last time I went I found a fingernail in my stack! YUCK! And their juices are WAY overpriced. Next time I want juice I will go to Makarios.
I worked there in the 90s. It was one of the coolest places to work! the food was some of the best I ever ate. I only had the opportunity of learning to cook a few dishes, But the ones I did learn I still prepare at home. I love the spinach quesidilla, and the stack. And the mexican lasagna is to die for. But just because the food is vegan, don’t let that fool you. I put on pounds by eating there.
Their mushroom barley soup is fantastic. Arrive early to get the special of the day. They usually sell out by 1 pm. They make the best brown rice you will ever taste.
Really neat place!. I went for the vegan mac and cheese, but wound up loving the black eyed peas that came with it way more. The mac and cheese needed salt, but was creamy and wonderful otherwise!
Fantastic Find. Their quesadilla is THE best I have ever had. I admit I was surprised since it is completely vegetarian. Their guacamole sandwich is also really good. Even something as simple as their rice & beans is superb. My favorite new place to go for lunch in Southside.
Finally, options! Everything veg, vegan and gluten free items. Guacamole is made fresh every day. UAB special with guac and black olives (I pile on the jalapeos) is my favorite! Free coffee with purchase. Quirky and friendly customers and employees.
