Chili slaw dogs are better than Prozac. When you’re down and troubled, and you need a helping hand… Just call out his name, and you know wherever you are, George and L.A. will come running….you’ve got a friend…Chili slaw dogs, I was skeptical at first, I’m not a huge slaw guy. But the combination of spice and smooth that comes from this creation will soothe the soul better than hours of meditation or medication.I prefer to add a little extra spice with the chili seasoning shaker, available on the counter.I live out of Birmingham now, but I always make a stop at Gus’s, and they know it.

Good value.. A jumbo hotdog all the way with chips and a drink for under $5. I consider that certified awesome. If you like american style junk food you should visit. Space and seating are limited. Don’t plan to sit if you go during rush hours. They don’t take cards either so have cash. Relaxed down to earth people running the place makes it an enjoyable experience.
Good dogs. We used to go to Pete’s famous, but since he’s been gone we decided to try Gus’s…it did not disappoint! Such a simple thing, a hot dog ..! And this one is very well made — good quality dogs and griddled for flavor..the man behind the counter was friendly and patient and asked several q’s about what i wanted on it. It was delicious !! We will come back and visit for our hot dog fix!
I’m in love y’all! Best hot dogs in Birmingham, you’ll walk in the door and wish there were an airfreshener with that scent!
