Disappointed. This place hasn’t been remodeled since it was build over 40 years ago. The smell was so bad, I could not eat. The owner really needs to invest in his business if he expects others to.
Niki’s has almost returned to its former glory. The food is tasty, fresh, and well-seasoned. There was a time when the food tasted like yucky cafeteria food with too many technical errors. Now, it seems like things have snapped back. At least for now. I hate to say it; But it’s among the best in Birmingham. The place still has a dingy feel. I wonder if they will ever renovate it. I don’t have a problem with the old decor, but can’t they shine (or by new) steam trays and make sure the glass panes are clean? Anyway, I suppose the food is clean and safe. No real reason to believe otherwise.

Fresh vegetables!. The owner goes to the farmers market every morning to buy fresh vegetables! Nothing is canned here like the other Niki’s. Everything is fresh and cooked great.
Consistently fantastic. The best meat and three that I have ever found. Anywhere. No kidding. Fresh food, great tasting, reasonably priced, it just can be beat. I’ve been eating here since 1992 and it never fails to impress. Make a point to stop by and have lunch. You will be glad that you did.
Hands Down, best food ever.. I went there for the first time last week, which is sad because I am a Birmingham Native. The food is amazing. I love the fast paced cafeteria style! I cannot think of one place or PERSON that makes food better than Niki’s. Definitely go there for lunch and get some good meat and 3’s.
