I have been wanting to visit that place for a long time now and finally did. Loved the decor inside and the live action you get to see as they prepare the oysters at the bar. The sushi portions are huge and filling. Crunchy salmon tastes wonderful and the presentation is great.
BAD SERVICE We typically love Ocean, but did not likecthe unattentive wait staff. It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had made a reservation for 8:00. We arrived 20 minutes early, so we could grab a cocktail at the bar. It took Carlos over 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were sitting there. He made eye contact with us, but not once did he speak to us. Once he finally took our drink orders, he was rude and pompous. We finally got seated for our dinner. Our server was superb and our meal was outstanding. My only gripe with Ocean is Carlos and his rude behavior. I doubt that we will be back.
Very nice from the moment we walked in. Larry and David provided great service!Oysters and crab cakes were great! Greek Salad with fried feta and heirloom tomatoes…amazing. Filet and lobster tails…awesome!! The pear pop tart and baklava ice cream…OMG…Out of this world delicious!!!!!!
To many great places in Birmingham to eat don’t bother trying this place. They let people save places at the bar for people that are not even there. Very bad.
I love this place! The food is always very delicious. Scallops were cooked perfectly, fish was tender. I can’t wait to go back. I usually don’t eat seafood, I’m a steak on the grill kind of guy but I’ll flip for this place.
I went there with my buddy Rick two weeks ago. We sat at the bar and had really good mussels appetizers and excellent sushi. I really liked that place. I’ll go again. ‘Definitely.
Good, but not great. Ate at Ocean for the first time this weekend. Heard it was fabulous. It was good, but it wasn’t great. Especially compared to some of Birmingham’s other restaurants in the same price point. Disappointed it wasn’t GREAT. Service= good, Food=GoodOverall: B+
