Everything is good at Pop’s. It is obvious that love goes into every dish prepared. There egg and cheese biscuits are my go-to breakfast in Birmingham. They are filling and the biscuits are amazing. Mama also makes homemade cobbler on the reg, which you should definitely give a try. The breading on their chicken fingers is the best I have had in Birmingham.

Pop’s Neighborhood Grill. Eating an omelet here for the first time immediately restored my faith in humanity. Cheese, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers. I drizzle a little hot sauce on mine as I am a heathen who wants a kick in the pants at 7 in the morning. Hash browns and toast on the side because sure why not. The coffee is hot and cheap and there.I’m pretty sure this place is no frills, but I don’t exactly know what frills are as that word is only used to note an absence thereof. Warm and welcoming staff. Change your life for the better and eat here.
Try the Chicken Fingers. I’ve been eating a Pop’s for years and realized, I’d never written a review. I love eating at this family run restaurant. It’s one of those places that they treat you like they have known you for a lifetime. Pop’s are known for their great sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs; which are among the best value in town. What a lot of people don’t know is the awesomeness that is their chicken fingers. Four of their huge fingers with a side of fries is more than enough food for me. They are always cooked and served fresh which goes a long way, in my book.
Best place in SouthSide, maybe even all of the Birmingham Metro. I’ve been eating at Pop’s now for almost two years and the food has never disappointed me, from the Burgers, to HotDogs and even all the classic sandwiches. Everything is made to order and seems to use high quality ingredients, but what sets them apart from anyone else is how they pair the different types of breads with each of their items. It adds that extra depth of flavor to an item and keeps you coming back for more. Not withstanding the excellent food are the people, and if your anything like me you enjoy a good atmosphere and fun loving people at the places you goto eat, not rude jerks. You won’t receive anything less than a friendly smile and great service from everyone at Pop’s. Between the great food and wonderful people I’ll continue to eat at Pop’s for years to come.
Best cheap lunch in 5 points. Really nice folks. Everything on the menu is great. Prices are really reasonable. I used to eat here regularly when I went to UAB.
Great place came in had the mushroom bacon burger.. Wouldn’t mind trying about ten more things!
