Excellent Food. I have been to Robert’s restaurant several times and have been totally satisfied every time. The food is delicious and on par with upscale restaurants. I have tried different foods each time and was never disappointed. The braised oxtails, the shrimp and grits, the slow roasted pork shoulder were fantastic. The sweet potato souffle and broccoli rice casserole and squash casserole were very tasty. And the desserts were wonderful too! The bread pudding and lemon cheesecake were great. I love that they switch up the menus , so that I can continue to try new dishes from them. Lastly, the waitstaff is excellent. Very polite, friendly and efficient. This restaurant is definitely one you should try. You will not regret it.
Amazing Southern Soul food done right. Dan and Audrey Roberts have struck gold with Roberts Cuisine. Traditional southern recipes get a creative haute cuisine twist that always surprise and delight the palate. On our most recent visit, we began with a cup of the best-bar-none gumbo ever. Our party of three each chose different entrees- one had Dan’s award-winning finger-licking ribs; I had the savory grilled salmon, and my husband had an incredible flavorful meatloaf. Save room (if you can!) for Audrey’s delectable desserts. The wait staff are friendly and enthusiastic and the restaurant and restrooms are spotless. Roberts Cuisine is our first choice for after church dinner.
Great food!!. Dan and Audrey have a love for cooking and their entrees are excellent. I am particular fond of their oxtails and ribs…It’s a toss up as to which I will have on Sunday as both literally fall off the bone they are so tender and seasoned to perfection. If you are looking for a family meal on Sunday, you cannot go wrong when you choose Robert’s Cuisine!
Braised Oxtails and Rice. Excellent!!!
Sunday Dinner. Don’t let the humble exterior fool you, Robert’s is a gem here in Birmingham. This past Sunday we were looking for some place with a buffet or veges. I hit new restaurants and saw that Robert’s was near downtown. Not sure what we would find, we walked into a fresh clean nicely decorated dining room. The staff of this family run restaurant were all very friendly and eager to please. The chefs have a long history of cooking, even competing around the country on the barbeque circuit. While most of the business is catering, they have a Sunday dinner menu that includes 3 kinds of chicken, ox bones, spare ribs catfish and porkchops with a wide variaty of veges The star of the meal by far was the fried pork chops. A large meaty portion breaded with Panko and fried to perfection, it was juicy, tender and flavorful. I have looked for this perfect porkchop for years remembering the dried shoeleather that often is served. While I eyed the smothered chicken for next time, it will be hard to pass up the chops! Maybe I can get Robby to order it so I can share a bite or two.
