Catch it if you can!. Very hard to catch this truck around town, but once you do it is so worth it. We ordered the burger with bacon and gorgonzola with truffle fries and it was delicious.
Been a few times, will be back. Ten bucks for lunch is a little steep it seems, but the Banh Mi from these guys is my splurge on Thursdays. It’s not huge, but it’s dense, meaty and authentic enough. For the price, I wish they’d offer a tiny side with it, but what can you do? Had three buns on one trip and they were fine but otherwise unremarkable. Looks like a Banh Mi rut for me for a while. Great sandwich.
The food truck was at Overton park last Thursday and I tried it for the first time. Let me start by saying I was super excited about having a relaxing dinner at the park and trying out Shindig’s food. I looked at the menu online beforehand and everything sounded superb. My oldest daughter and I ordered the burger and my younger daughter ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich. The burger was okay. However the meat was burnt and it was a greasy mess. My daughter did not like the chicken and waffle at all. Not even the chicken by itself. I took a bite to taste and I agreed! The waffle was soggy and so was the breaded chicken breast! It was gross. It tasted like the waffle and chicken breast were pre-cooked and then heated in a microwave. It didn’t take too long (maybe 15 minutes) for our order to be ready and we ate it immediately afterwards. I love supporting local businesses and especially farmers! However, Shindigs failed to impress.
Over 1 hour to get order. Last night Shindigs was at Overton Park. We ordered our dinner at 6:05 and we did not get it until after 7. There were a lot of people there, but that is no excuse for a food truck taking over an hour to serve a family. By the time we got our food it was pitch black so we had to take it home and couldn’t even enjoy the evening at the park. The food was good, but not 1 hour good.
Delish!. I stopped by the Shindigs Truck last week and had the chicken burger and truffle fries….OMG! It was absolutely divine and I can’t wait to try one of the buns. They were super friendly and for $7 it was a good bargain for a yummy lunch.
Thanks Shindigs for a great party!. We used Shindigs to cater a large party for a wedding and could not have been happier. I host events often and the food truck was a novelty. This is by far the best catering service I have ever used. The food was unbelievable. They think outside the box. They were friendly and easy to work with while planning the party. The servers were wonderful and the guests never had to wait. Guests voluntarily gave great praise to them for a wonderful party. Thanks Shindigs!
Exceptional grasp and appreciation of the culinary arts. Shindig’s short rib and pork belly steamed bun is fantastic – totally balanced and satisfying… Can’t wait to try some of their other menu items. You can tell that these guys put a lot of time, effort, and dedication into their dishes. Truly, Shindigs is a all about quick and affordable, gourmet cuisine.
