Food wasn’t too bad. Panang red curry was a nice combination of sweet and spicy. What they need is better service. Our food came out in two waves with half the table having to wait to eat for the others to get their food. The Coup de grace was when I received a back and lap full of curry when they were taking our plates. I did get an apology and a dessert offer however we were leaving. No offer to take my meal off the check or pay my dry cleaning bill. I will be heading to another one of Birmingham’s Thai places now.
Surin west is so much better then surin 280. The atmosphere is very elegant but chill. The food and services is a lot more on point too. I think the sushi is fresher here.

Don’t go here. super slow service.overpriced.. I used to visit this place over the years and the service has just deteriorated beyond anything. The wait times are so excessive even when there is hardly anyone dining at the time. You could drive over to the Surin Mountainbrook and still receive your food faster than dining here. You may think that I am joking when I said that last statement but I have done that before.The food is over priced and the quantities are scarce. This is the first time I have visited Surin West in a couple of months and now I remember why I quit coming here in the first place. Be ready to pay high prices and sit there waiting for a long time before your food finally arrives.
Used to be good. This place was one of my favorites a couples of years ago…this past time we went, the sushi tasted like it came from a chain supermarket and the thai noodles were more like overcooked linguine than the normal rice noodles. I was so grossed out that I’m not willing to give it another chance.
Disappointing and overpriced. This was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Even worse than the kind you buy at supermarkets. Shrimp tasted old and the Thai noodles were soupy and tasteless. Really in disbelief this place has good ratings.
Didnt remind me of the surin i once knew.. Wife and i ate there recently and food was decent. not bad, certainly not great. Mediocre at best. Which is sad it used to be fantastic. Hopefully we just had a bad night.
