Really delicious home cooked meal is what I had with friends!! I had the Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli Casserole & Mac n Cheese plus their Country Fried Steak with Onions & Brown Gravy & 2 rolls. Everything was delicious and I took a pecan pie home for dessert that night, which was fantastic!! I was very full from my lunch and want to go back again even today. The only problem I occurred was that my tea was never refilled and I had to go & request a to go cup of tea. The place was not that busy but evidently there were only two wait staff to take care of the lunch crowd.
I’ve been here twice now, both carry out and eating back at work. First time I had fried chicken, Brussel sprouts, Cajun rice and sweet tea/lemonade. Second time I had gumbo on rice, turnip greens, fried okra and another Arnold Palmer. This is the best sweet tea ever. Best. Ever. Everyone should have some! The fried chicken was perfect – crispy on the out side, juicy on the inside. The gumbo was delicious, tender and tastey, exactly what gumbo should be. Best turnip greens. My only complaint is that the fried okra wasn’t crispy and that may be due to being steamed in a box for 20 minutes on my was back to work. Great place. I could eat there every day. Totally nice people.
