Best homestyle cooking in town! If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch in Birmingham with a variety of healthy and hearty options, Ted’s is the place for you. I really enjoy the French toast, Greek omelette, sweet potatoes, squash, and greens….and when I’m not in the mood for meat and three, they have yummy salad options too. You can’t beat it!
Not happy. Food, so, so. It used to be much better. I dont know what happened to them but I used to go for lunch each time I had visitors from out of town. Always impressed, Not anymore and I dont know if I go there again with my guests.

This was my first and last time to eat at Ted’s.. Didn’t make a very good impression on my.. I got a sausage and biscuit and it wasn’t even really warm..
NOT RETURNING. Nearly 6 years ago, I would visit this restaurant at least 3 times a week!! I enjoyed it that much! But…..the quality of the food at this restaurant has gone down. The service is great, it’s just the food that is below mediocre. I think that maybe they have different cooks now or something. I went in about 1230 which I guess is considered late lunch and it was pretty dead as I expected. I got fried chicken, green beans, corn, and fried okra. The chicken was warm, nearly cold. The okra was like ice chips. The only thing on my plate that was actually hot was the green beans and corn. The cornbread was so tiny, it was like the size of a mini cupcake. It tasted good, but it was so little, I couldn’t really enjoy it. OH, the sweet tea was about the best thing I had. Then, this place is way too expensive for the quality of food here. I can spend $11 at a local competitor and get meat and three and a drink and two cornbread muffins that are a decent size. I am so disappointed with my experience today.
Guilty Pleasure. Anytime I have friends visiting I pick them up from the airport and we stop at Teds for lunch. Nothing like total immersion into southern culture. The food is good, basic southern cooking, great atmosphere and wait staff. I agree with other reviews, it is a little expensive and do not go at the end of lunch. Great local spot. If you like mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, greens, roast beef, you will love Teds.
