This is the racist restaurant that had a problem with a fraternity hosting an event in their establishment. The fraternity paid $1500 to reserve the venue and AFTER the owner found out that this is a predominantly black fraternity, the president of the fraternity received a call stating that the deposit would be returned because their establishment has had issues with ‘their kind’ in the past and felt that this was the best decision for public safety. Eat here, do business with them, sirens your money here ONLY if you promote and encourage racism and discrimination
Went to Cypress Inn while visiting my daughter in Tuscaloosa. Of course the location and view are outstanding. The service was really good but we were there early so it wasn’t very crowded. I had the buffalo chicken sliders and my daughter ordered the filet. The sliders were good and the portion was huge! We took home more food than we ate! My daughter’s filet was slightly overlooked but she said it was tender with good flavor. Overall a nice experience.
I always enjoy Cypress Inn. The environment is nice and it’s right on the river. I went for my anniversary a few years ago and they really made it special.
My family and I had lunch here for the first time. The view was beautiful! I loved the atmosphere 🙂 Our favorites were the crab claws, blackened tilapia, ribeye and shrimp pasta. The peanut butter pie was good too 🙂 We live out of town, but we will be back every time we are in the area!
Once again, Cypress Inn was outstanding! We had taken our Small Group from Church of the Highlands to lunch here the other day. They all were so surprised and pleased at their meals. Hubby and I split the wonderful tomato bisque soup with their so addicting yeast rolls and mini bran muffins. I had their open Prime Rib sandwich along with their fried green tomatoes, all so very good & delicious. Hubby had their blackened Amber Jack along with the fruit cup and Gouda grits. He pronounced these very good too. But his stomach was so very happy at their bread pudding for dessert. We had Gailes as our Server and she was so spot on with everything being paced well. I had recently been there with my Red Hat Ladies for luncheon too and they were equally pleased!
Love the scenery of the river. I have never had a bad meal here. Good quality food. I love the buffalo shrimp, and especially the prime rib. Have eaten here with large groups, weddings, and date night and have always had a good time.
Better Than Ever!!!!!. Ive enjoyed Cypress Inn for years. My food has always been consistent. My service wonderful. The view and building a wonderful atmosphere. I had dinner this past week and my server was brand new (he told me). He had been trained as though he had been a server for years. The food is the best its ever been. The energy and welcoming staff to be commended!!!!
