They now have a liquor license. Limited but good wine list and interesting beers. Pork dishes are great. They raise their own hogs in Warrior Alabama. Never had anything here that wasn’t fabulous.
We were lucky Alabama played today, we had the pace to ourselves! Amazing story, self-taught chef learned by working at smaller restaurants and bigger ones in Atlanta,… since age 16. He also prepared the logos saltado and aji de gallina at what was Roman’s (Peruvian would know). We shared the Crab Cake Situation and the Fig Tree Hash, healthy portions (read big) and BEST CRAB CAKE, ever. FT will close for few days for renovations, the place is charming and cozy. Talking to the chef and owners was a treat.
Birmingham’s best kept secret. It’s a hole in the wall, but in a really good way, and we left feeling like the wait staff and chef were our new best friends. Each dish is a piece of art and the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my top favorite restaurants ever and I cannot wait to go back!
An amazing dining experience. My crab cake situation was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection & though the place was packed, the service was perfection. Only 8 tables so best to make reservations.
I ate here on a Friday night. First off, you need to know that the restaurant is extremely small. It is very quaint but at the same a little tight. There is 8 tables in all. The food is high quality. My wife was not crazy with her dish but overall we were satisfied with the experience. You can tell the chef is serious about his profession and for that reason we will most certainly be back!
My husband and I LOVE the Figtree Cafe! The Executive Chef always visits in the dining room and we love the personal experience. They have recently acquired their liquor license and have a build your own Bloody Mary bar unlike any other I’ve ever seen. Our last visit I had braised rabbit on a bed of spring greens and Parmesan Risotto topped with a blackberry Demi glaze. My husband ventured out on the game of the day. Two beautifully crisp quail on top of collards and John Hollands Hoppin John rice. Absolutely phenomenal as always. Thank you guys for all your hard work and amazing food. We are never disappointed! Looking forward to your upcoming Spring menu!!
Unassuming, but fantastic! Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because the atmosphere could use a little work, but the first bite of food makes you forget your surroundings in an instant. Tiny restaurant with about 8 tables, so I recommend a reservation. They did just receive their liquor license, so they are now serving wine & cocktails. Want to go back & try brunch next time!
