Tasty Lima Beans. I enjoyed lunch at the Magnolia Cafe. I got chicken tenders, lima beans and sweet tea. The service was friendly and the place was clean.
I can open my own canned food for much less $$. Canned or frozen vegetables were over seasoned. Looked as if an entire can of back-pepper- in-can was dumped in everything. Much too salty. Not a healthy way to prepare vegetables. Way over priced. Was shocked at the cost for 2 to eat lunch. One plate was 3 veggie only with no meat other person ordered 1 meat and 2 veggie plate. Both ordered ice tea and total was almost $24!! This type of unhealthy diner food is old fashioned and soon to be forgotten. Need to update menu with healthy selections and get rid of the black-pepper-in-a-can.
Not happy w/lunch surprises. WATCH OUT for overcharging!!!! Some of us were charged for a meat & 3 instead of meat & 2. Lunch w/tea was $14.00! Also, 25 cents for water that you have to get yourself…. seriously? We will go to The Fish Market for those prices!!Food was fair… Not worth the $… Publix Deli would be comparable.
PRICEY!. The price difference of $2.00 between meat with 1 vegetable & meat with 2 vegetables is too much. Especially when most of the vegetables are canned or frozen. The only FRESH vegetable other than salads were the fried green tomatoes. I really would not call this a typical diner, either. The lack of napkins on the tables only agitates customers more after the experience of where to sit a large tray when you are trying to fill your glass. There is not a good flow throughout the serving line. Also, the cornbread is very dry. Please do not waste your money here. Management has a very insulting way of responding to a request. Our group left with a very bad overall impression. We definitely will not go back.
Great for Lunch. I have lived near Magnolia Caf for several years but had not tried it until today. It was a good place to go for meat and vegetables. I had the fried chicken (delicious, not greasy), macaroni (definitely not out of a box) and the fried green tomatoes. I did not pick the healthiest options, but they were worth the calories.
Very Impressed!!!. We went to this cafe after mass this morning for Mother’s Day. The food was just out of this world. Very fresh and my little picky eaters ate everything. Perfect place for a nice lunch.
