Looking for Lebanese cuisine? Pita Stop is the place. The Hommus is my favorite, and takes you back to the land of our beloved country. The Filet Mignon and the Rack of Lamb are the best!
Same thing is done much better at other Mediterranean restaurants in town. My husband and I were in the Summit area, looking for a restaurant to try, and decided to give The Pita Stop a try. I’m sorry to say that I regret our choice. There are a lot of Greek/Mediterranean restaurants in town that serve essentially the same menu (kabobs, plus rice, plus salad, plus hummous, plus pita bread, plus fruit.) I’ve tried just about all of them. To me, this was the worst of the lot although the restaurant charges more and is much more nicely decorated than usual. I ordered taziki sauce instead of hummous. The taziki sauce had almost no cucumber taste. The beef kabob tasted lamby–as if it had been cooked on the same grill immediately following an order of lamb. Since I hate the way lamb tastes, this just about ruined the entre for me. The vegetable kabob was okay but the wild rice had almost no flavor. We live in Roebuck and routinely eat at the Gyros Caf in Trussville. It is much better and is cheaper. And they have mint tea! The only thing I did like at The Pita Stop was the baklava. That was good.
Worst food ever. I recently tried out this place after wating at the loive branch right down the road and i must say i am not impressed. Maybe the olive branch has just spoiled me but everything about the way theyre gyro, hummos, tabula, kiafta, grape leaves and more seem to have so much more flavor and it seems like its better quality. I was rushed by the server while dining in the pita stop and there was a really creepy older man at the front who i think owned the place. Overall i give this place a 1 star. If you want true Mediterranean food then i would try the olive branch
Great Food but Skimpy on the Pita!. I love this restaurant….I truly do. The lamb is just wonderful! However, I picked up a Gyro Plate Special at the window and spent $14.93 plus a $3.00 tip, so almost $20 on one meal and only got 3 pieces of pita bread. I usually order extra (and am charged for it) but I would think for that amount of money they could bump it up to an even 5…at least. C’mon Pita Stop… for the amount of money you’re charging, the quantity of pita bread should match the quantity of lamb. Just sayin.
Truly wonderful!. My first time trying this place and it was wonderful. I was hesitant to try certain things because they just sounded odd, but I had the falafel and was blown away. Everything from the falafel balls, to the salad, to the rice was to die for. The service is some of the best you have ever seen as well. Baklava was good, a bit dry.
Great place for Mediterranean. If you like Mediterranean food, this is the place to go. I usually go for the Kafta or the chicken, and have yet to be disappointed. The roasted cauliflower with garlic is incredible, I could have made a meal on that.
