I wouldn’t normally rate a grocery store deli this high, but the new concept Winn-Dixie’s hot bar is quite amazing. They began rolling it out in Birmingham around 2012 or so. Not only is there the usual grocery store fried chicken and Winn-Dixie’s famous catfish, the new concept stores offer a carving station with hand carved freshly cooked meats such as Prime Rib, Turkey, Ham, Cedar Plank Salmon, and more. A meat with 2 sides is $5.99 while the carving station or premium meats with 2 sides is $7.99. Also check out their premium desserts in the bakery including individually sliced cheesecake. Sure, it’s not 4 star restaurant quality, but for the price it tastes pretty darn good.
