If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars!!! My waitress was Allison and I have to say she absolutely represents the ENTIRE staff at Buffalo Phils. She was rude, slow, and made CONSISTENT wrongful accusations. I recieved a refund from the manager but after talking to the general manager a few days after, I received the poorest quality customer service ever!!!!!!! I had to call the general manager because I was promised a phone call pertaining to my refund but I never recieved a phone call (not a surprise AT ALL!!!). The general manager tried to rush me off the phone before I could even finish saying what I was calling about and actually HUNG UP ON ME!!! Take my word for it… Buffalo Phils is NOTTTT worth going to!!! Explore the other restraunts I promise you their portions and prices match up way better (if you order the wings at Buffalo Phils you will get 6 wings the size and width of your pinky toe!!!!) and they will provide you with excellent customer service!!!!!!!!!! Oh and as a side note, It took Allison 2 hours to bring me 2 drinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- it was NOTTTTTT busy at all!!!!!!!!! There was barely anyone there when I was there.
I have been there twice. Once, we got our wings and they were delicious flavors, yet quite small which I anticipated from prior reviewers. And a second time we received our tenders and dipping sauces and the tenders were basically ice cubes. We couldn’t get the waitresses attention to send them back for a good 15 minutes. Finally we got her attention and she brought us new freshly fried ones, but not before taking our old ones? Either to refry the old ones or to do something else with them.
Been coming here for years. Great food , great service. The wings are small , but tasty. The salads are large, and the burgers are juicy as hell. Good bartenders and great customer service. Stop by on a game day for a true Bama experiance.
Good Sauce, WORST WINGS. I remember eating at Phil’s a lot when I moved to Tuscaloosa in 2005. Back then I remember thinking that it was one of the better wing places in town. But now 8 years later I have to say the case is quite the opposite. Some of the main reasons I ate there so often back in 2005 no longer apply to me. I lived behind the Publix across the street, and I could use the Dining Dollars I was FORCED to purchase as a student there. The Sauce has always been pretty good. But the prices have gradually creeped up over the years, and the portions have gradually gotten smaller and smaller. I think a Chicken winger combo used to be right over $7.00, not it is closer to $9.00. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if the meal had stayed the same, but it didn’t. The wings are now so small that you wonder what kind of chicken they even come from. I have never had wings quite this small. There is usually more bone than meat. Pathetic. On top of the wings being TINY (seriously, it’s almost like someone is playing a joke on you), the fries are usually right between being lukewarm and cold. Also, good luck with getting whatever you asked for on a to-go order. The only reason this place is still in business is because they have guaranteed traffic due to dining dollars. The only reason I went back was to see if they had somehow shaped up since my last visit. It actually has gotten even worse, and sadly it doesn’t seem like there is any change in sight. I am really disappointed because I used to love this place, but now if I want wings, I will go absolutely anywhere else to satisfy that craving. There are too many good wing places in town to try and give this one any more attention.
Worst wings I’ve ever eaten. They’re about the size of a peanut and most don’t even have a bite of chicken. The fries are pretty good, but rarely fresh. If anybody ever comes to take your order, it’ll be after 10-15 minutes of sitting there waiting. When they come back with your food, go ahead and ask for extra napkins and a refill because you won’t see that waiter/waitress again until they bring you your check. That being said, use your drink and napkins wisely. Every restaurant that serves wings in Tuscaloosa has better wings than Phil’s. Dining Dollars is the only reason they’re in business and I continue to eat there. If you’re not paying with dining dollars, don’t go because its way overpriced. If you want wings, go to Baumhowers.
They just forgot my onion rings and ruined my whole day. Seriously it’s not rocket science to get an order right. You just lost me as a customer. Nobody messes with my onion rings!
Terrible service. Our waiter practically forgot about us.
