The quality of the sushi is very high. It was quite good. The steak my wife had as an entre was cooked well beyond what was asked for. And the price points are too high in my opinion. They should invest a little time training the staff and it would elevate the entire experience.
This evening: Hostess/receptionist was extremely unfriendly & unwelcoming. We stood at podium for a couple minutes before she decided to put down her paperwork & assist us! I then noticed she playing w/ her hair while standing at podium…yuk! Her poor attitude set the negative tone for our dining experience! Food = good but overpriced. Beer=bottled…they need to incorporate craft beers on tap. I will not return, mainly due to our 1st encounter w/ a neg./unprofessional employee (at a pretty important post).
Pricey but excellent.. We had the seafood platter: crab cake, bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, grouper filet, asparagus and rice; New York strip steak; fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, berries and goat cheese salad; bread pudding and blonde brownie with homemade coconut ice cream. Only thing we didn’t like was the Cole slaw. Too expensive to go often but will go back for my birthday. I recommend you try it.
We went to Chuck’s last Saturday evening. We shared fried calamari and scallops for the appetizer and they were perfectly cooked. Some restaurants cook calamari until it has the consistency of a rubber band but Chuck’s got it just right. The stuffed shrimp was to die for! Our server was Harrison and he gave us just the right amount of attention. No waiting, no hovering. My only (I’m picky) complaint is that the Lemon Drop was served in a wine glass. I expected a martini glass. Other than that, it was perfection. Can’t wait to go back.
Just finished awesome me at Chucks. Sushi was awesome as an appetizer and then followed up with a crab cake entree’. The Gouda grit cake was killer.
Good!. NEVER had a bad experience here. The service is wonderful, food always comes without too much of a wait—even during football season.
A great date night in Tuscaloosa. My wife and I had never been, so we decided to give it a go. From the moment we walked in to having the greatest service in Mallory we could have asked for, I can say I will go back. The meal was well done and the recommendations were on point. It’s a great atmosphere and has the right mix of ambiance to be a place you’d feel great bringing a date or even for a work dinner. This place is a treasure in old downtown Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
