Best Sushi I Have Ever Had. Hokkaido has by far, the best sushi I have ever put in my mouth. The Roll Tide Roll is wonderful for someone who chooses not to branch out of their comfort zone too far. The atmosphere is wonderful. LOVE LOVE LOVE

I think another tornado is in order.. Something tragic happened to this place after the Tornado. I wasted about 100 dollars here about a year ago or so. I could have made better sushi in a 50 dollar hotel room using all of the wrong supplies.Being part Japanese myself, I am both insulted and ashamed for my country. It is too bad the old order of things isn’t still standing. Whoever made my sushi there on my last visit needs to do the establishment and the public in general a favor and take up the art of Seppuku instead. I really cannot stress this enough: it was pure garbage.I’m not the type of person to call a manager and complain. I’m the type of person to consider my payment worthwhile in the sense that it is a learning experience. I now know where not to go, ever again, unless someone else invites me and is paying. I will risk it under those circumstances, and if it is even half as bad as it was last time I will never return even if they paid me instead.Great looking building, friendly staff. Godawful sushi. A tragic disgrace to my culture. No umami to be found here.
Tokyo is much better. Check…. I am not hard to please but this was terrible! Tokyo is much, much better. Check your carry out orders…..ours were not what we ordered. Chicken and shrimp were overcooked and tough to chew. Scallops were good but I only got 3 in a chicken & scallop combo dinner entree (did get plenty of inedible shrimp though). Fried rice and steamed veggies tasted old and the shrimp sauce seemed watered down. What a waste of money! Will never eat here again!
I LOVE Hokkaido! I’m never disappointed when I go there. I always their hibachi steak and chicken. Comes with soup (unless it’s carry out), salad, veggies, and rice. Their shrimp sauce (AKA yum-yum sauce) it’s amazing..especially if you pour it over your fried rice! I find that I prefer Kobe’s sushi over Hokkaido’s but that’s simply because, in my opinion, Hokkaido puts too many fish eggs on the outside of their sushi and I don’t really like fish eggs. But other than that, I love Hokkaido. I HIGHLY recommend it.
By far the best Japanese restaurant in town. The service, chef, and atmosphere was fantastic! I’m definitely going back.
