Nice people, good service, low prices, mediocre food. I’ve tried the steak, fried rice, chicken, rangoons, and different sauces. I recommend you go to Hokkaido instead!
HORRIBLE SERVICE. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town until they started bringing out orders plate by plate. No one wants to sit and watch their date eat for 15 minutes, especially when you say that when you order. Told the girl I wanted the sushi and food at the same time, I sat there awkward with no food for 15 minutes. You lost a customer of 4 years, twice a week, FOREVER.
I was there last night with a friend. The sushi was excellent for the price!
Best sushi in town!. If you want sushi, try Ichiban! They have lots of variety. Their plates are great too. The price is so very reasonable and their service is always friendly. The exterior isn’t pretty, but don’t let that stop you. It’s worth it!
Tuscaloosa’s Best Sushi for Price. Ichiban is next to Sitar on 15th St. If you want very good teriyaki plates / sushi, this is the place to go. The thing that makes Ichiban so great is the price and quality of the food. You can go there and get a lot of GOOD sushi for a college minded price. There wasabi is not watered down like over at Bento either. It is the good stuff.Highly recommend to go and get during the week. I always get two order of rolls and some nigiri for under $15!
Literally the worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Sushi was decent at best, but the fried race tasted burnt, the salad was literally 6 squares of lettuce with vinegar on it, crab rangoons were a joke, and the steak was tiny. Just a pretty sloppy job all around.
Wasn’t Served. We’ve had pretty good experiences here in the past, but tonight was troubling. Took my fiance tonight for sushi after she finished lab at UA. Walked in, lady behind the counter acknowledged us and I said two and we were pointed to the very back booth on the left side. We noticed the table still had the plates and cups from its last guests, but sat down anyways because we were directed to that specific booth (it was the only vacant one on that side of the room). We sat there for 12 minutes with old food in front of us, and were never acknowledged or offered menus! The Vietnamese waitress came to us after about 5 minutes… muttered something under her breath that indicated she was confused… then walked away and never came back. We sat there 7 more minutes and watched them play with the baby behind the counter. We’d had enough and just walked out. I was extremely disappointed. Both my fiance and I had long days and were looking to enjoy some good sushi, but never got the chance to. It’ll be a while before we go back.
