This place is HORRIBLE. Highly overpriced, these people have to be making at least an 80% profit on every item. 4oz of cheese dip for $4????? No ma’am. Also the service is horrible, waiter was rude, took forever to get food. Never will I ever go back! Plenty of other good Mexican places!
Horrible Margaritas – RUDE MANAGER – Will never go back. We had a group of girls meeting here for our monthly night out. After returning a Margarita due to its unpleasant taste, our gracious waiter brought a second one to the table, indicating that it, too, was made from the same base as the first one, and that if we did not like it, we should let him know. It was worse than the first, but when we expressed this, a person we assumed to be the manager(named Polo) came to the table. In a very condscending way, he asked if we had a problem with the drink. He told us they served thousands of Margaritas every week and we were the FIRST to complain. He stated that we must not be used to drinking Margaritas. I told him that we were, and in fact, because of the tone and way he was talking to us, I indicated that we drank lots of them at another local Mexican restaurant. He then told me that we obviously were used to that taste and not used to their superior taste. He continued to stand over our table, and repeated himself, was very arrogant, rude, and tried to be intimidating. He finally said, oh, well, and picked up the drink. The nice waiter brought a glass of wine. When the majority of our group arrived, we elected to go to another Mexican restaurant. Before leaving Iguana, the bill for the wine and other drinks arrived, and there was a charge for one Margarita. We disputed the bill and the nice waiter took care of this for us. I hope printing this does not cause him difficulty. I can understand a manager wanting to find out why a customer was not pleased with a product served in his restaurant, but I can not accept the manner he spoke to us , his attitude and his intimidation tactics. We all concurred that he would not have acted this way had our husbands been present. He lost 8 customers, each who spent over $20 at the Mexican restaurant we went to that had excellent Margaritas. None of us will be back to Iguana and we plan to tell our friends, co-workers, and facebook friends of our experience and urge them to eat at other more welcoming establishments in Tuscaloosa who truly appreciate customers and want to serve. We hope our nice waiter finds a more pleasant place to work. I am posting this review in every site available. I want to add that our group is middle-age and we were not disruptive, or drawing attention to ourselves, or being unreasonable. The manage did not offer to taste the drink to see what we were complaining about. He did tell us the drink did not have grapefruit in it as it had that off taste. Totally shocked at how he acted.
Best sopapilla and Irish coffee around. Random, but delicious!!
Overpriced. Much like Tuscaloosa food, I found everything to be mediocre. My favorite part of my meal was the queso.
The most bland food ever. Guacamole was just mashed avocados. Taco bell uses spices, maybe you should go taste their food. never again…
DO NOT GO HERE. If I could there would be no stars. Tonight was absolutely the worst service, management included, that I have ever experienced. The waitress Daniela was rude and very unhelpful. We had to ask for the manager several times before he came to the table. When he did he was unapologetic and rude. There is no excuse for bad service and certainly no excuse for terrible food in a restaurant. Previously I had been without any problems the events of tonight have lead me to never return. Im sure the people at the table feel the same way. BAD FOOD. BAD SERVICE. BAD MANAGEMENT. My warning to the company as a whole is to take feedback because without you are endorsing the poor service. Bad service will be synonymous Iguana Grill.
I have always loved Iguana Grill…they are (slightly) more expensive than other Mexican restaurants but the atmosphere is nice and the food has always been consistently good for me.
