Malodorous. One Friday afternoon I decided to treat my daughters to a girls evening out starting with a meal a IHOP. I picked them up from school and headed on the 45 minute drive to the restaurant. We live in rural Alabama so if we want to dine out we must drive a pretty good distance. As we drove up to the restaurant, I noticed a young man standing in the parking lot talking to someone in a car. The reason he stood out to me is that he had on an IHOP uniform and clear food service gloves on his hands. I thought for sure this guy could not seriously be out here with those gloves on and possibly going back to the kitchen with them on. I figured I’d watch him a bit to see. As he was talking quite a bit, I decided to go on in the restaurant and just keep an eye out to see if he entered with the obviously contaminated gloves still on. As I entered the restaurant I was kindly greeted by the hostess but shockingly I was rudely greeted by an offensive odor of old urine that completely permeated the air. I was stunned. I noticed that not one other customer was in the restaurant. But figured it being only about 3:45 p.m, maybe its not a busy time for them. My daughters and I were escorted to a booth and as we discussed the offensive odor of the place and lack of customers, we became concerned that maybe this was not a safe place to eat. We decided to err on the side of caution and leave. As we stood and started to leave, behold who had entered the front door from the parking lot and proceeded to walk into the kitchen! Yes, with said gloves on. Needless to say we quickened our pace and headed somewhere else. So, I’m sorry I can’t tell you how the service or the food was.

Food is usually ok, built approx 15yrs ago and the carpet or anything else has ever been replaced. It smells bad in there. Not well taken care of.

The lady that sat us down wAs very rude. She ask if we had 2 and talked to another waiter then turn around and walked off. The other waiter told me you can follower her. She laid the menus on the table and walked off. It is a shame people act like this in any line of work. A lot of times people forget to just be happy they are alive, or not in a 3rd world country carrying bags of rice on there head for 2 dollars a day.

The first time I visited, the food and staff are mediocre. The second time I visited I couldn’t even sit down because the restaurant smelled SO TERRIBLE! It smelled like mildew and old grease.

Service was very slow. I waited 20 minutes for my four harvest nut pancakes after the rest of my family was served. I’d like to say they were worth the wait but they weren’t. The twenty minutes I will never get back…

Great late night food stop. I never get anything but their breakfast but it’s always good. Be sure to try the monster cheese sticks.
