My husband and I along with another couple were able to taste test the menu at the new Metro Diner in Tuscaloosa in Midtown Village which opened 4/11. We were familiar with the menu but our friends were not. It was such a joy for us to share this and see their faces as they perused the menu items. We had such an outstanding waitress, Kelsey who answered each question and handled our orders so professionally, although she was in training mode. We met Manager’s David and Tracy, as well as Casey who was with the Metro Diner Management Team. They were so helpful and friendly as well! Our food was so fabulous! I ordered the Nutty Waffle and Fried Chicken which had delicious strawberry butter on it but the sauce to dip the chicken was so sweet and spicy at the same time!! My husband had the Blackened Shrimp over Black Beans & Rice with Mango which was perfectly spiced. Our friends had the Classic Eggs Benedict and the Yo Hala on the Square (two thick slices of challah bread, stuffed with a mixture of bananas,brown sugar, cream cheese and hazelnut syrup, prepared like French Toast with blueberry topping) with a side of eggs and sausage. Both of our friends were extremely pleased with their choices and raved about it. In addition, we tried out the Mango Tea which was very refreshing. All of our food and drinks were delivered with a genuine smile and courteousness. We had such a great time eating here!! We know that after April 11th, this place will be the new place for all T-Town foodies and families that will gather here!
