I love this place! Everything is good! The wings are in the top two of Tuscaloosa. The sides are great and they have good drink prices and a crazy long happy hour! The atmosphere is good with TVs and music going!
The food was great and the young lady that took our order was very sweet to explain everything, since it was our first time. Only slightly rated down due to the flies that get in. If they solve that, then 5 stars.
Not worth it.. Pulled pork was OK…but not great. Small portions for the price. Mac and Cheese dry. Beans boring. Catfish was pretty good though.15 May, 2015Baked Beans. Plain. Terrible. Don’t come after 730 because they’ll be out of PORK (a bbq restaurant without pork), chicken, and then turkey. I’ll never go back. So disappointed, if you want to eat go anywhere but Moes
Try the ribs.. I’ve been to Moe’s on University several times now. Each time I have been sorely disappointed. I’ve been rooting for them, thinking that maybe I just showed up the wrong day, but apparently every day is the wrong day for Moe’s because they have let me down consistently over such a long duration that I will no longer give them another opportunity to deprive me of what could have otherwise been a decent dining experience.I’ve tried many things on their menu, but never the ribs. So try the ribs, maybe they are the one saving grace. I’m not into the whole ‘ribs’ thing, so I’m not going to bother. I’m not saying their food is bad, it isn’t. It isn’t great though, and to be honest some of it I wouldn’t even classify as moderately adequate. For what they charge, the owners should be in prison and Jefferey Skilling should get a Presidential pardon. You get about 3/4 of a cup of each side. Bring half an opened tube of Ritz crackers with you and you’ll have some to spare after piling the sides on top of each, as an added benefit it will give you something to snack on as you leave in a desperate final plea to have your hunger satisfied and to get the taste of what they call tea out of your mouth. The potato salad isn’t anything to write home about, nor is the slaw, unless you are writing your mom to tell her how amazing her cooking is by contrast. The staff is usually courteous, which really isn’t a plus but rather a baseline expectation.Bottom line:Want a better meal? Stop by Moe’s, take some salt and pepper, go buy two steaks and potatoes from a local grocery store, lightly salt both sides and cook them with a homeless person behind the strip on an overturned stolen shopping cart. The atmosphere will be about the same, the cost will be less, and the meal will be far more satisfying.
Best BBQ ever in Alabama. Order the Bama ! Yum! Save room for the banana pudding too.
Delicious BUT. Too spicy….., better to add than take away pepper. No real cornbread by. It’s reaally good!
