Nothing fancy here, which is great, just tasty diner fare, friendly and quick service, and reasonable prices. I recently visited Tuscaloosa for a basketball game with my father, and we were very impressed with this no frills, unique local establishment. Like other reviewers have mentioned below, parking is non-existent, but a walk to your vehicle is almost welcomed after eating here because you will have likely eaten a lot! I recently ordered a breakfast platter, with eggs over-easy, bacon, a biscuit with sausage gravy, and some of the best grits that I have ever eaten. My father ordered something similar, but had some hash browns that looked absolutely delicious. This place is certainly worth your time!
I know this place is a favorite of locals, and the burger was good, but the entire time I was there all I could think of was how badly the place needed to be scrubbed down. I have been in many dives, and I can take a little grease. But this really was beyond the pale. I would say close the place down for about two days and scrub scrub.
I went to Rama Jama’s today. I’d read a little bit about it on here before hand…so I was ready for what I’d see! Even the make-pretend Nick Saban there! Anyway, the guy who took our order was very nice. My wife and I, we made our order and sat at a table. After a few quick minutes, they brought our food out to us. And it tasted good. They know what they’re doing here. Great staff too! Wonderful place for a bite to eat.
BLT. I was mislead. I was told there was a piece of bacon for every Alabama natty. There were only 10 pieces of pig bacon and five pieces of turkey bacon. I’m not sure why.
To go orders, all, morning, long.. This place is legit.Ordered breakfast from here almost every day for a few months straight when I was working nearby. It is genuine southern breakfast.What sets it apart from the others in town?The owner resembles Nick Saban and the parking is possibly the worst in town (and that is saying a lot). They have literally 5 or 6 spaces that should really be 3 or 4 for how tight of a fit it is. I usually just parked on 11th Ave under a sign that made idle threats about towing my vehicle or some such ridiculous nonsense. Good luck getting a tow truck down that street.Cops seem to love this place even more than City Cafe, or, they might just hate Northport more.
Great place to eat. Huge menu to choose from and very reasonable prices. Love to eat there frequently.
