Unfortunately I have to write this review, but I had a terrible experience at Sweet Home Food Bar Sunday morning. My grits were salty, my eggs were cold, my biscuit was hard as a brick, and my chicken n waffles was cold as ice. I’m thinking about getting John Currence on the line Tuscaloosa deserves better.
There was a lot of hype about this restaurant, but upon arriving and perusing the small, unimpressive menu, I decided on the ridiculously over-priced glorified grilled cheese sandwich, which I believe costed in the ballpark of $13….bread and cheese and a lot of money.
Cool place. Pancake of the day usually good and any breakfast item on menu also tasty. Chicken egg and bacon breakfast sandwich won’t leave you hungry. Just bring your sunglasses-
Awesome experience all around. I went to the Sunday brunch and although there is a limited menu, there are a variety of options. I had the chicken and waffles. Different taste but great. The chicken was a tad spicy which complemented the sweet waffle. For dessert I had peanut butter pound cake. I’m not the biggest fan of peanut butter but it was actually good and not overpowering. The service was great and the ambience was fitting of a bistro type restaurant.
We had an incredible breakfast this morning! Homemade, yummy and prompt service! The atmosphere is wonderful and we loved it!! We will definitely return and recommend it to everyone!
I wish I could have the meals back that I wasted here.Do yourself a favor and skip this place, because they obviously decided your money is not worth a quality meal.The last time I ate here, if you would have told me my food came out of a microwave…I would have believed you.
