Was here on a Monday night, it was not crowded at all. We hung out outside. They were serving outside but we could hang. Everyone was super friendly to my child and they all brought their dogs up to play with her since she expressed an interest in petting them. All the bartenders were extremely nice. The beer was also awesome
This place is probably my favorite brewery in Birmingham. It is large enough so you can have space to spread out even when crowded. And their beer selection is the best!
Great place with outdoor seating and a friendly bartender. After sampling a couple of brews, I found my favorite, a Scottish dark blend close enough to an amber beer. If you’re a beer and microbrewery fan you should try this place.Tip: there’s a food truck close by, that does a mean crawfish. You can have that with your beer as the place allows outside food.
Avondale is an amazing place to hangout. It’s a nice chill place. People can bring their dogs, try amazing beers, play corn hole, and just relax. If you are in Birmingham it is worth checking out. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
I must stress that I am not a beer of food critic by any means or stretch of the imagination. I have been going to avondale brewery for a long time. I love the staff there except for one guy who is rude, arrogant, and very impolite. I have been there repeatedly and had to deal with him being cold and calls while communicating with not only me but others around me. When someone asks politely, how are you today or how are you doing this evening , and the guy says nothing…that sucks. This guy is called Dallas but I don’t know if that’s his real name. I will never order a beer from this guy again and I suggest that you do the same unless you want to get terrible service and pay 5 dollars for a beer. I was with a group of friends tonight and all of them had poor things to say about the bartender working the outside bar in the evening. O well.
The first time I visited the brewery was for an event. I did not realize that events were held in the upper loft at the time. When I attempted to enter the bar for the event and asked where the event was being held, the bouncer laughed at us and told us to go upstairs and continued to mock us as we left. I’ve been a few times since then and am unimpressed by their beer selection. For a local brewery I’d expect better options. This is definitely a social spot. I come back not for the beer but for the social gatherings. Honestly if social circles moved elsewhere I wouldn’t miss this place.
I love the Elephant. They have great craft beer and I was treated with wonderful hospitality. I look forward to returning here on my next trip to Birmingham.
