We have eaten here occasionally over the years but found it had recently moved. We find it still a classic for us. We had breakfast with my husband had the gravy biscuit platter with eggs and crisp bacon. I had the ham & mushroom omelet with hash browns. We splurged and had their world famous orange cinnamon rolls/biscuits. They were heavenly and we even took six more home to eat. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive as I had eye surgery that morning and was super hungry. We are never disappointed with Bogue’s! A charming jewel in Birmingham’s restaurant scene for years!
Absolutely awful. My family went after the Mercedes marathon. We got there, put our name on the list, and there were 4 tables open. After waiting with other families for over 30 minutes somebody finally asked why haven’t they seated us. The hostess said that the kitchen was behind and said not seat anybody. We we seated shortly 15 minutes later. After being seated for 15 minutes, the waiter who was waiting over 10 tables made his way over to get our order. We went ahead and ordered our meals since we had him nailed down. After waiting an hour for our food among many other guests, I decided to go talk to the waiter to see if I could get a biscuit as I was getting sick. The waiter was very rude and I went and sat back down. My father went and asked him for the check and he unwilling gave it to us. The hostess asked how our food was and we filled her in on what happened. She tried to be nice, but it wasn’t helping. We left shortly after and I will NEVER step back into that place.
Small breakfast place with excellent food. They have have your traditional breakfast options at an affordable price. The portions were large and the biscuits were devine. It seems like there was only one waitress working her but off for the whole restaurant.
