Hotbox doesn’t have much for vegans, but what they do have is absolutely delicious! They always have a tofu dish (which is usually too spicy for me, but friends of mine like it), and I adore their hummus, which is always made with something interesting, like white beans, or edamame, and the fried wontons they serve it with are amazing. It’s in a cool location, the back of Parkside, a hipster bar in Avondale, so it’s a good place to hang out with friends.
Very interesting location and venue. Hotbox is basically a stationary food truck located in the back of a bar. Great place to go eat when the weather is good and get to enjoy the outside. The bar has an inside seating area, so it works for both rain and shine. The food is good, the place is pet friendly. It is a relaxed and fun environment.
The curry and the brisket sandwich are literally too spicy to enjoy. I don’t say that lightly, I’m a fan of spicy–but come on. The shrimp pot stickers were good though.
