Good coffee, but slow service and indifferent staff. 30 minutes for a sandwich, and counter workers who believe they are doing you a favor to pour coffee. No thanks. Not worth the effort.
A true neighborhood coffee shop. Dropped by for the first time this AM. Right when I walked in, it reminded me of the eclectic coffee shops we have back in Western North Carolina. Friendly staff, comfortable seating, and great coffee. Will definitely become a regular. Well done, guys. You do it right.
Straight from the farm!. This place is unique in that they are visiting coffee farms around Central America and setting up direct trade deals, then roasting it in-house. Right now they have heaps of burlap sacks from Kotowa Farms in Panama – that’s some tasty stuff! They expect more soon from other places. They seem very concerned to only use farms with fair labor practices.

Unique Experience every day!. We tried Red Cat for the first time while strolling around Pepper Place. The Latte and Breve were superb! The perfect cup of coffee? Absolutely!! We have struggled with enjoying coffee anywhere else since. So, we make our daily run up to the Red Cat. Without fail, the staff is warm, inviting and familiar with our tastes and names. If we could give them 10 stars out of 5, they would deserve it. We like to support our locals especially when they smash the competition. We’ve tried the ‘other shops’ several times, but almost always are disappointed in the mediocre quality. We can afford to go daily/weekly as Red Cat’s prices are fair. Saturday morning is bustling with the Pepper Place crowd, but we see friends we know and enjoy a good chat, making the wait in line well worth it. In house roasting and the fact that they grind each cup creates an invitation to all of the five senses.
