What a great concept to merge Japaneses and Mexican food, two of my favorites! I had the Rainbow Burrito (basically a ‘Rainbow Roll’ consisting of salmon, tuna, krab, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in a soy wrap), the fish was fresh and the burrito tasted great. My critiques are that the rice could be seasoned better and, in truth, the dish was only ‘Mexican’ in form as a ‘burrito’ but not a true fusion of the two culinary cultures.
Now that’s a burrito!! I tried the chicken and the steak, both were very tasty. You will make a mess while dipping it in the sauce, like I did, but you will enjoy it!
I really like the Hippy (the only vegan sushi burrito they have), but unfortunately there are no other vegan options there. It’s great when you have a taste for that one item (and that definitely happens every so often!), but I hope they’ll follow suit with some of the other restaurants in town and start offering some more veggie-friendly options soon!
I had no idea we have a place like that in Birmingham. They serve SUSHI BURRITOS with a side of nachos! The owner was absolutely friendly, and portion was big. Such a great idea and location next to UAB campus.
What a great place!! Not the most kid friendly seating and it’s small inside. The food is oh my stars delicious!! I was pleasantly surprised by the music and prayer jar and friendliness of the staff. This is my new favorite place. Worth every penny!!!!!
This was a unique concept to me–sushi burritos. And I must admit I was a little reluctant but my husband was a big fan so I tried it tonight. We had the 420 nachos and the rainbow roll and it was really fresh and tasty. Such a unique spin on sushi–would have never put the flavors together but it was unbelievably scrumptious. It is a must try! I will be a regular.
Mexi-nese; a fusion that totally works! Cute, hip but small place…I could see seating being a big issue on a very busy night. I am not a fan of seating so tight you can hear another table’s conversation loud & clear. Thankfully, it wasn’t too busy when we went for dinner. The Torro burrito was awesome! So much flavor in the beef! Served with a side of surprisingly delicious salsa, made in house from the look of it, & tortilla chips. Only reason I’m not rating this place 5/5 is the close seating & the tortilla chips that don’t do the salsa justice. I wish they made their chips or at least picked up a better bag from the grocery store.
