Best dive bar in Anchorage!. The blue fox is by far one of the best dive bars in Anchorage! Great burgers and steaks and drinks are affordable! Stephanie is an awesome daytime bartender and is always fast with her drinks and cooking up an awesome meal. Friday nights are also awesome if you love karaoke and Daniel has to be one of the funniest bartenders I’ve ever met! If you want to try somewhere affordable and welcoming I suggest going to the Fox!
One of our favorite places for a quick bite. This is one of our favorite local joints to eat at when we’re in town. They have great food & beverage prices, good grub and the fireplace really hits the spot on a cold winter day.Admittedly we’ve mostly stopped for lunch and an occasional Thursday/Monday night football game so I cannot comment on the night scene at Blue Fox. I only know that we’ve tried several other local eateries on our trips to town and we always end up back at the Blue Fox the next time around for lunch or an early dinner.FOODVery good grub and very reasonably priced. Plenty of menu options to choose from well under $10 and daily specials to boot. We love the burgers, wings and poppers. It’s not five star dinning but at $5-$10 for most menu items one would not expect it to be.ATMOSPHERE & BEVERAGESThe Blue Fox has a nice local bar type atmosphere. Nothing fancy but not a dive either. Very clean and the fireplace is worth a second mention. Very cozy on a cold day. They offer the usual suspects in the way of beverages – the full gamut of mixed drinks, plenty of bottled beer and a few options on tap. Even a few micros. All very well priced; maybe even a little cheaper than some other joints in town (last we were there they had Blue on tap for $3/pint).STAFFWe’ve never had an issue with the staff. Always fast and friendly. No complaints here.OVERALLGreat place to stop for a casual bite and a brew – very affordable. Off the beaten path a little in that it’s not down town, not really on the east side, mid town, or south side but just sort of in between but definitely worth it.
Cool atmosphere, grumpy old bartender that is really rude.
College bar. Typical college bar, kinda dark and full of loud kids – but had a good time with the potty-mouth band who sang just about everything (although I’ve officially heard enough about butt sex and binge drinking for the rest of my life). The onion rings were tasty (although I was starving and PMSing so anything hot and greasy was awesome at that point). The chips & salsa are not worth it at all but all the beer on tap is good (not a lot of variety though).
