Best Vanilla Cheese Cake Ever!!!. Thank you so much for the unforgettable vanilla cheese cake, it has got to be one of the best cheese cakes I have ever tasted! My husband was very happy, it has to be his favorite birthday cake in 20 years together, and it made his birthday! We will order this again and enjoy every last bite! You are a diamond in the Spenard rough! Here’s to your continued success in the community! Best Wishes, Heather & Joe
Love it! My wife and I frequent this spot for our date nights! Great cakes…great coffee!
Good if you’re in the area. Went in with my daughter on a Saturday morning after going to the Spenard Farmer’s Market. We shared a lemon meringue cupcake, since I love lemon meringue pie. The meringue frosting was good – not too sweet, beaten to the right consistency and piped beautifully; but it hadn’t spent any time in the broiler or under a mini blow-torch, so it was missing that beautiful browned color. The lemon curd filling was tasty as well, just the right hint of citrus. There just wasn’t enough of it.The cake itself was just okay – the taste was fine, but the texture was off for cake. Instead of light, it was heavy and dense, somewhat reminiscent of a banana bread. If I was in the area again I’d go back – for $2.50 it was a good price – but I wouldn’t make a special trip.
I want to love this place but just can’t. Service is terrible- I never know if I should order at the counter or sit at a table and wait for someone to come to me. It changes every time. The food is hit or miss. The chocolate pecan bar amazing, the brownies always terrible, cakes are sometimes okay. The coffee is pretty good though. I live nearby so if I absolutely need a quick chocolate fix I’ll stop in but otherwise I can find better desserts, service and atmosphere elsewhere.
Tasty desserts for the sweet tooth in everyone. Great place to take a date!
Boyfriend has a sweet tooth!. My boyfriend has a sweet tooth the size of Denali, so after hiking one weekend he wanted something chocolatey and sweet. We tried Sugarspoon. The pecan chocolate bar was good, though I heated it up and served it with ice cream (we took our stuff to go). His smore cake was alright, but not really anything to call home about.Prices were a little high, and service was just alright.I didn’t try the coffee though, maybe next time I’ll eat in.
More please!. So far one of our top 3 to go places for desserts the bad thing is the location… definitely needs a more parking friendly area.
