I love this place. Most likely my top choice for Chinese in Anchorage, and probably the only place that has dim sum that I know about. Their red bean buns are the right amount of sweet and the egg tarts are heavenly. Their birthday cakes are incredibly light and not too sweet, making it perfect crowd pleaser.
Buffet Style Food. If you want something quick that was possibly made hours ago, this is your place. I ordered a spare ribs meal that almost made it to my seat before I did, thus indicating that it was pre-made. To add insult to injury, the food was only lukewarm and rather flavorless.
Serving dry bread with meal, charging for butter!?!?. Here we sit at a gold up utility table, eating our two bowls of soup, for 21.00 plus tip.We are served soup with dry bread, then CHARGED extra for butter to put on it… Pathetic.It’s not the amount, it’s the idea.GREED? This is the place to find it!Now I feel negative regarding the tip I paid for my cafeteria setting.This is a prime example of the steep decline in restaurant ownership pride in our fine country of America.Then again, owners are not originally from America, so this is very typical,That’s once.
Only go there if you want to be accused of lying. I ordered some two shrimp wontons without noodles, cause the noodles are very nasty and bland and do nothing for the dish. I paid for it and told the English as a Second Language person..No, on no noodles. Well when I got home, I found out that they packed it full of noodles. I then took them back tp Charlies to get my order fixed and the woman that took my order came out and started to argue with me. She kept telIing me twice she asked me about the noodles and I said no. I am not one to complain, but to be treated like this was totally uncalled for. She was accusing me of lying and I did not take it well. I told them to keep the soup and the money. I usually do leave with a $50.00 bill at least once or twice a week, but not any more….Bad Customer Service does cost. My complaint will not sink the business…but at least I won’t be spending money anymore there…
Unbelievable Chinese french bakery. Food here is fresh and very good. Pork buns are a favorite of mine and the baked goods are top shelf. Strange place with good prices and fantastic food.

Consistently good food.. I usually order the curry chicken or the mushroom chicken, and they are both excellent. Even the rice is like home-made, with just enough stickiness to really go all-out and eat with your fingers.On the few occasions where I’ve ordered the lotus wrap or a pastry, I’ve been pleased. The lotus wrap is deliciously savory with sticky rice, pork, chicken and whatever else wrapped in that leaf. It’s so good, I don’t care what’s in it. The baked goods have always been just what I expected and they are always awesome. I’ve been here several times over the last 5 years and I’ve only noticed their offerings getting better over time. The chicken curry is more flavorful and there’s always a ton of mushrooms and asparagus in the mushroom chicken. My wife orders the black bean pork ribs when she wants some comfort food and it always hits home.
