This place won me over as a lunch spot. When this place first opened I gave it a try and did not care for it. It seemed all the food was bad quality and expensive, so I steered clear of China Lights. After a few years I gave it another shot and I am happy to say that they have gotten their act together. I go for the lunch buffet, and the food they have is always warm and good quality. There is quite a variety of items to try, and they have a salad bar as well! Regarding the sushi, I haven’t tried it. If it is a buffet I won’t do sushi. But the Chinese food dishes are unique and tasty. Give them a try, during lunch when it is cheaper.
I am also confused. Ok, is this buffet the best I have ever eaten in my entire life in all my travels, no. Is it horrible, disgusting, gross… NO! If I rate it against it’s peers of Asian buffets in Anchorage, I think it comes out close to the top. This place has nice decor and I thought it was clean and well lit. Food temp is a BIG issue with me, and every item I put on my plate was at a nice hot temp and the staff was constantly stirring the bins. Food was buffet food, but quite a bit better than most places around here. The selection at dinner included a lot of seafood, which was nice. So, all in all, I think it’s a better choice than most other buffets, but you can’t compare it to the best places in New York or San Fran… it’s a buffet, and I think it’s a pretty good, clean one.
AWFUL. We ordered (for delivery) fried dumplings, California roll, an egg roll, house seafood basket, and chicken fried rice. It was INEDIBLE after 2 bites, gave me a headache instantly. The cabbage in the egg roll was so bad, some of it was mushy and soft and some was not cooked at all! Do not order from here, you will regret it.
Fresh. Good food but must always go during rush hour!
Never seen chicken nuggets in sushi rolls before…..
Excellent :D. I dont know where these negative ads are coming from. ive eaten here once to dine in, once for take out, and once for delivery. every time was great. i was incredibly impressed with the delivery. i do live nearby, but my food was delivered in 20 mins from the time i made the call. that’s fast no matter where you are. the food was fresh and piping hot, even after sitting out for 15 mins before i got to it. not greasy, and HUGE portions. this will feed me for a few days. same price as all the other chinese restaurants, but better quality and service. customer service has always been above average too.
