Heard about this gem from our local friends here. So far best coffee in Anchorage with the best service. Great friendly, hip crew with cool laid back vibe & music. Typically like an Aussie coffee shop with all the sweet treats but, chocolates in this one too- nice! Flat white came out with a bit too much foam, but hey that coffee flavor perfection. The size of the cup gigantic enough for three to share for $4.5 get with it Oz!!
Coffee shops and the Pacific Northwest are synonymous because of long established coffee shops like Dark Horse. Using locally roasted beans, good music and a cool vibe. DH is as much of a community anchor as it is a cafe. They also serve the usual suspects in cafe food and snacks. One of the classics in Anchorage.
Clean your steam wand!. I was going to order a latte, but when I saw the steam wand I decided to go for an americano instead. It was coated in cooked milk, you could see the layers at the top, white for latte and then brown for mocha, all caked on. Looked like it hadn’t been washed off in hours. What if I couldn’t have dairy? Would you have put that steam wand in my soy milk? Gross!
