F Street Station is a bar with bar stools and a handful of four-seat stool tables. You find a chair and seat yourself. No one will greet you. Service is very nice but hard to find when you want something. Food is a mixed bag. Seafood like salmon salad and crab sandwich were fantastic. The burger and fries were average at best. I do like this place for its beer selection and fresh salmon, but I do not find anything extra special here.
Initial impressions: Very enjoyable if a bit crowded.I had the halibut sandwich and was quite happy with it. It wasn’t too greasy or too fishy, and my wife –who hates fish, God help her– even liked it.The restaurant seems to be very popular so service may be a tad slow and the seating may be crowded. However, don’t be afraid to sit near the cooks as they really made the visit for me.While he cooked up food for who-knows-how-many people, the cook maintained steady conversation with both myself and my wife and made sure we tried some of his jalapeno halibut sauce which wasn’t as spicy as it sounds, and added a pleasant after taste to the food.I write this review a bit late after my visit, so I will have to go again and update it with more detail.
Best Halibut ever!!. First time there and watched the chef prepare my serving. When served to me super hot, I took a bite and it literally melted in my mouth. Best fish I have ever had…bar none. Upon finishing my meal, I handed the chef a tip and thanked him for everyone at out table. Can’t wait to return and see if he can make it that good again……
Poor service. I went here last night. The waitress was more interested in chatting with her friends than waiting on us. Then she tried to give me a drink that had well vodka instead of grey goose.
I love this place. It’s my second time visting anchorage from nyc and the F station is my go to place for food,drinks, nice people and awesome bartenders just got chance to meet Tiffany and Kim a few days ago. the place was popping but they were still very on top of checking in with us to see if we needed anything. they rock and for sure i will be back. thank you.
Occasional F Street Goer. I have been to F Street off and on and usually am impressed by the food and service. Excellent burgers and halibut! However, the service the last few times have not been satisfactory. This last time a young waitress was very unfriendly with a poor attitude. When paying for the bill our table requested an amount of change back and waited for 30 minutes, before we had to ask the young waitress for our change. When asked, she scowled, and rudely returned the change. Fairly understanding with the large crowds, but regardless, manners are always nice.
Great crab sandwich. Staff can be rude when they’re busy but depends on the person. Don’t ask for anything to go, they don’t do that.
