I love Falafel King. Guaranteed deliciousness every time!And, Avi and Sima are the best, warmest, nicest people — and man, oh man, when they cook up a batch of falafel balls in front of you, you immediately start drooling. If you really want to treat yo’self, order some of the fries, too. You don’t need them since the sandwiches and plates are more than enough food… but they just might make your soul smile. So, go ahead and grab the fries, too, once in a while.If I could sum up Falafel King in one word, that word would be: YUM!
The only real shwarma in town…. I’ve driven by Falafel King many times and finally decided to give it a try when I was in the area running errands. I’ve always been a fan of shwarma but had yet to find any place in town that had the real thing. As soon as I stepped into the place I knew it was a good decision. The smells instantly reminded me of middle eastern restaurants and neighborhoods, and there right behind the counter was real shwarma. Not the ground up and formed stuff, but real meat sliced thin, marinated, hand stacked and roasting in the spit.After viewing the small menu I decided to get a shwarma plate to go. I wish I had also pickup up a baklava but I was trying to be good (for a change). Service was fast, friendly and he carved the shwarma fresh for my order – shwarma over fresh shredded cabbage (which softened by the time I got back to work), tahini, ground chickpeas, onions, tomatoes and pickles with pita bread on the side. The amount of shwarma was amazing and I had trouble finishing it, but it tasted so good I make every effort to do so.If you’re looking for a taste of the middle east but want to forego the prices of the sit-down places in town, stop at Falafel King for a few dishes to eat-in or take home. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food and awesome service, it only took me 2 minutes to order and receive my food. The restaurant is extremely small but I saw probably 15 people order take out, so I guess size doesn’t matter if everyone is getting it to go. I will definitely be back.
Went here today for the first time. Got the beef shawarma and the baklava. Was decent and edible. However the baklava reminded me of a glazed donut and the texture made it come across as not-so-fresh. The shawarma was MASSIVE. Tahini tasted like it was out of a jar and the beef was dry. Maybe because I came later in the day? Either way, I would be willing to give Falafel King another try.
Tasty Shawarmas. I’ve had shawarmas all over the place too, and I still like this place’s spin on them. I ALMOST chickened out when I got close to the place, but I’m glad I gave it a try. Meat was nice, pita was good and the whole thing is a mess to eat… PERFECT! I will go back.
Listen, don’t do what I did. DO NOT judge this place by it’s appearance.After reason so many good reviews, I finally called in an order for shawarma, and falafel. The shawarma was as big as my face! I absolutely loved it. This place is awesome. Amazing food. You must try this place! I’m so so so sorry I waited years to give this place a shot.
The owner (?) super nice and pleasant. However the food (chicken) for some reason didn’t set well for me. 🙁
