OMG: Delicious Macarons in Anchorage!. Over the past three years my family has ‘hunted’ various cities and towns for the perfect macrons. The macarons at Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop (FIRB) rival those, if not beat those from Bouchons. These little beauties are the perfect size and the creamy buttery filling is light fluffy and not overly sweet. Our family also sampled croissants, Ciabatta, and scones, and all were exquisite. Pricing is comparable to speciality bakeries in the lower 48. The shop has a nice vibe. This place made me fall in love with Anchorage all over again. Thank you Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop for bringing a little piece of heaven to our home town.
