Had a horrible experience tonight. The burger my daughter ordered was on a bun that was hard…hard as a rock. Couldn’t cut through the bun. I asked for another burger…and the second one came in worse condition. I asked to speak with the manager. He took more than 5 minutes to come to our table. Was not helpful or apologetic. A third burger was made. Same thing happened…old hard bun. He took $2.00 off our billl for our trouble. And dismissed us. We will never return to this restaurant. The food has never been exemplary, nor authentic. I am Mexican so I know what authentic is. Unfortunately, in Anchorage you take what you can get as far as Mexican food. Such a shame. Ruined our entire evening, made is late picking up my other daughter from practice. And my youngest didn’t have dinner until we got home. Please be cautious.
The reviews are too old. The food and service were both good . We almost didn’t come due to very low rating , but when we saw how old the reviews were, we saw the crowded parking lot and tried it. Glad we did ! Recommend you try it .
Good food, good service. We had dInner there and had a very pleasant experience. Everything from the chips & salsa to the entrees were exceptional. The margaritas were very good. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Anchorage wanting a really tasty, pleasant Mexican meal!
Nice evening. We went to this location for a birthday celebration. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying. I don’t like it when someone is constantly coming to the table and asking if everything is ok. The margartia’s were very good and large. Their chili rellano’s and tamales were awesome. Great flavor. One person had a huge burrito, one huge chimichanga, and the other had a chili rellano, Chicken enchilada plate which they all said were very good. Good sized portions of all meals. I have lunch for today. The spicy salsa was very flavorful , not just hot but tasty, and the others liked the mild but it tasted like flavored ketchup to me. Don’t understand the poor reviews unless some peoples expecations are so unrealistic they will never be satisfied. We will go back.
The Hostesses were terrible!!. My fiance and I waited for almost 5 minutes for a hostess. The one who came to us was not friendly and didn’t have a professional look. The food at this place is not bad, but not worth the amount of money you spend there. :S
Good food, slow server. Food and chip/salsa were very good. One waitress was slow, while the others picked up her slack.
Gallos has the most unprofessional manager you will ever meet. After 2hrs, and more than $800 worth of food and beverages the manager threatened us with calling the police. Can you believe that? Whatever you do, do NOT come in a large group, and if you do, make sure to tell them beforehand that you need seperate checks for each couple (who can’t seperate checks these days?). Their system apparently can’t handle more than 6 credit cards per order. I feel bad for the servers who have to deal with that. Poor management makes for a poor business. Vote with your money and go somewhere else.
