Eat here if you like gastrointestinal distress. I have eaten at Garcia’s in Eagle River twice. The first time I told myself I would never eat there again. Somehow I ended up there a second time. I think I was held at gunpoint and forced…it must have been against my will.I ordered the much touted Chimichanga. What I got was cold, had a gelatinous gob of greenish goo on top of it with a layer of skin on it. Biting into it, holding back my nausea, I bit into what appeared to be either a piece of chicken bone (it was sharp) or someones toenail.Either way that was enough for me to quit eating my meal and drink water from a dirty glass.Only recommend this place to your enemies or in laws.
Tonight was the best service we have had ever! The food was fast and came before our drinks. Our waitress Sarah was awesome. She was so friendly and was on top of it and it was a busy night as well.
Great service, good food. My mom and I went to garcias last sunday. My mom is on chemo and rarely feels up for going out, so it surprised me that she wanted to go here. We waited only a few minutes before we were sat in a front booth. We were greeted by one of the friendliest people we had ever met. Our waitress , Kammy, is an excellent waitress and extraordinary person. She treated my mom like royalty, and I will be returning often because of the great experience. The food was hot and delicious, I had the taco platter and my mom had an enchilada which must have been really good because she finished it. The bathroom had some paper towels on the floor, but clean. This is my first review, I just had to write one because it was a rare highlight of the past few months and very dear. Thank you Garcias and Thank you, Kammy.
Interior is dirty and has an unpleasant musty smell like they never clean the carpets. Waited 15 minutes after being seated for our server to acknowledge us. Food took an additional 40 minutes for a simple order for two adults. The burrito had a strange unpleasant flavor. I’m not the picky type when it comes to Mexican food, but this was seriously the first burrito I’ve ever not eaten more than a two bites of. It was essentially a crappy flour tortilla with greasy ground beef inside. No flavor, except for that strange, alarming flavor. Maybe it was dish soap? I’m ashamed to say Taco Bell makes for a more authentic Mexican dining experience. I guess the big screens inside playing sports are what people come here for. If you’re looking to put something in your mouth other than beer, I’d look elsewhere in Eagle River. Oh, and if you like canned pace picante sauce you’ll love their salsa. Gross.
Don’t bother eating at Garcia’s – it’s REALLY BAD. This was the WORST food ever! We were in on Tuesday 6/3/2014 @ 5:45pm. We thought it would be good since it was the dinner hour(s). There were very FEW people eating, maybe we should have taken our clue from that. Lots of servers & staff standing around, the bar was about half full of folks. We ordered margaitas, one blended & one on the rocks. Blended was okay, but the one on the rocks was half water, no mix very little tequilla.Chicken fajitas were ordered. The chicken was overcooked & dry. The guacamole that was ordered was the stuff from a bag that you get at Costco, althought that might have had more flavor than what we received. The additional food that came with the meal was just as bad. The beans were dried out & looked like they had been left over from the lunch rush, not to mention they absolutley NO flavor. The rice was overcooked, flavorless and also appeared to be the remains of the lunch rush. The green paste that was being called guacamole made another appearence. It was just really bad food! I have seen all of the great reviews for this place and can only think that you either are drunk or have NO IDEA what good mexican food is. Save yourself DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE IT IS A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY!!!!!
Delicious!. Best mojito’s around. Great Mexican food
A contender for the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever encountered. Run far far away….
